Condition Overview
The patient is a 20-year-old female from Hengshui. Two weeks ago, she experienced distorted vision and blurred eyesight in her right eye without obvious inducement. 01 Introcular Surgery vs. Exraocular Surgery
Introcular surgery, namely vitrectomy (PPV) surgery, has great and irreversible damage, slow recovery, high cost, and requires prone position for two to three weeks after surgery. Compared with traditional extraocular retinal surgery, FCB has the advantages of shorter operation time (reduced from 50 minutes to 10 minutes), no retrobulbar anesthesia, no muscle traction, no scleral fluid release, no intraoperative positioning, and no hole freezing. Doctors only need to implant the folded uckle into the outer wall of the eye at the detachment site, and then inject saline to inflate the capsule, which will "push" the detached retina back like a jack.
